Atishi To Take Oath As Delhi CM At 4:30 PM Today Along With Members Of Upcoming Cabinet: Report

Atishi, the newly appointed Chief Minister of Delhi, will take the oath of office at the Raj Niwas on Saturday at 4:30 PM. This statement comes after some confusion because the Lieutenant Governor’s office had not given Atishi and other ministries the timing of the swearing-in. It is customary for the President to give his or her approval before a Chief Minister to resign. The delay was caused by the fact that the Lieutenant Governor’s office had not yet received the resignation file of outgoing Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was still awaiting confirmation of the exact timing, even though Saturday was set for the event. Other cabinet ministers taking their oaths include Gopal Rai, Kailash Gahlot, Saurabh Bharadwaj, and Imran Hussain, in addition to Atishi. Furthermore, Sultanpur Majra’s AAP MLA Mukesh Ahlawat will be sworn in as a new cabinet member.

After Sheila Dikshit and Sushma Swaraj, who both passed away, Atishi will be the third woman to hold the position of Chief Minister in Delhi. After Arvind Kejriwal nominated her, the party overwhelmingly approved her appointment. She had held a number of significant positions in the Delhi administration. After being sworn in, Atishi, the elected MLA from the Kalkaji constituency, must pass a floor test. September 26–27 is the day of the Delhi Assembly session, where she has to win the House’s support.

After Kejriwal was imprisoned in connection with the excise policy case, Atishi was given the largest responsibility of any minister in the Delhi administration, supervising 13 departments. She was an advisor to former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia from 2015 to 2018, and she has a tight relationship with Kejriwal.
