Wrote in social media, Jagan denounced Naidu’s proclamation which he termed as a politically motivated perjurious statement. Reddy has also written to Prime Minister Modi to seek redress regarding Naidu’s behavior and demand action, Ma’er argues, outlining damage to the holy practices of Tirupati’s traditions. Reddy underscored that even after a tanker containing questionable ghee had been ordered not to be brought inside the temple upon its arrival, Naidu had made false statements which damaged the temple.

Naidu’s party, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), claimed that a laboratory in Gujarat confirmed the presence of harmful substances in the ghee used for laddu preparation. The controversy continues to stir strong emotions, with both political and religious implications.
