Sisodia Suggests AAP-Congress Alliance Talks Will Resume After Kejriwal’s Release, Warns of Potential Future Political Imprisonments and Challenges
Regarding Delhi Assembly polls, AAP leader Manish Sisodia has said that the party is willing to sit with Congress but the talks will not happen till Arvind Kejriwal is out of Tihar Jail. Kejriwal was arrested on March 21, in connection with a corruption case involving the alleged liquor scandal. Sisodia also made it clear that while the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) is important in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, the shape, size and dynamism of state politics mandate different approaches.

AAP as of recent has benefitted from a favourable political background in Delhi however every election presents some form of struggle. He further said that the BJP led central government uses the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) against the opposition leaders, to mean that not only Kejriwal but even important Congress members like Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi could be imprisoned in the future.

Sisodia, who was also arrested and is currently in jail in connection with the excise policy case, indicated no enthusiasm in resuming his ministerial responsibilities, stating that he would leave it in the hands of Kejriwal once he is released from prison. Meanwhile, Sisodia intends to conduct padyatras across 70 assembly constituencies in Delhi as AAP gears up for the elections that are set to begin in February next year.
