Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had virtually inaugurated the Vande Bharat Express, numbered 20175. Rail Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu officially flagged off the train from Agra. As the train reached Etawah, a crowd of political figures and supporters gathered on the platform, eager to be part of the event. Along with Sarita Bhadauriya, Samajwadi Party MP Jitendra Douwhare and former BJP MP Ram Shankar were also present.

As the train prepared to leave and its horn sounded, the platform became chaotic. Supporters and political figures tried to get closer to wave the flag, causing a commotion. In the rush, Sarita Bhadauriya was accidentally pushed off the platform and fell onto the tracks, right in front of the train. Fortunately, bystanders quickly noticed and signaled the train to stop. The train was halted just in time, preventing a major accident.

The police and nearby people immediately rescued the MLA from the tracks. According to eyewitnesses, she was taken to the hospital for a check-up. Sanjeev Bhadauriya, the treasurer of BJP’s Etawah unit, later confirmed that she did not suffer any visible injuries. She rested at home after consulting doctors, who are monitoring her for any possible internal injuries.

The Vande Bharat Express will soon begin regular operations between Agra and Varanasi, covering the distance in approximately seven hours. The return train from Varanasi will operate as train number 20176, while the Agra to Varanasi service is numbered 20175. The exact start date of regular service will be announced soon.
