Sanjay Roy Denies Involvement in Kolkata Doctor’s Murder, Alleges He Was Framed Amid Security Failures at Hospital
Sanjay Roy, the key accused for the rape and murder of a doctor in RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata, is still claiming that he is innocent. From his lawyer’s mouth, Kavita Sarkar, Roy was categorical that he is being framed for this heinous crime. He was arrested on this date from CCTV footages and the Bluetooth headset left by him at the seminar hall where the mishap happened.

While being interrogated using a polygraph test, Roy was always denying any complicity on the criminal act and each time he was asked about his possible action in the crime, he would always answer in the negative. He said he saw the victim in a pool of blood when he was conducting a seminar at the hall on August 9. Paralyzed by panic, Roy said he did not report the incident to the police because he was afraid that no one would take him seriously.

The lawyer for the defendant Roy has argued that there may have been negligence on the part of the hospital security on the night of the murder implying that another person could have sneaked into the seminar hall to commit the heinous act. She underscored this by meaning that the process of investigation ought to take into account all the probabilities with the implication of another person who could have capitalized on the circumstances.

It is still an open case with the Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) still pursuing the case and Roy’s alibis for his innocence. Concerning the legal process, Roy is likely to plead not guilty, arguing that he was not involved in the occurrence in any way.
