Jaishankar’s remarks have come as National Security Advisor Ajit Doval left for Moscow to attend the BRICS NSA meet where he will likely submit a peace plan that PM Narendra Modi has advocated. This comes on the backdrop of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent trip to Ukraine where he signified India’s readiness to contribute to the peace making process. Modi’s diplomatic moves are very balanced because he not only supports Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, but also a Russian President Vladimir Putin.
India remains neutral and supports only peaceful settlement of the conflict string and offers itself as the mediator that can bring the sides to the negotiating table.
