RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat Explains How India Confronts Global Evil Forces: ‘We Perform Last Rites’ and the Role of Cultural Wisdom in Neutralizing Divisive Tendencies
RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat recently spoke and mentioned the global question, which evil forces pose throughout history, mentioning that India stands in a unique position to respond to such malign forces. Bhagwat said that these forces, which are present in all parts of the world, die when they come to India, and the are given their ‘funerals here.’

While receiving an award, Bhagwat stated that ‘the demons are always at work and do not need directions while the saints require constant encouragement.’ He was able to bring a historical aspect of cultural degradation together with the modern-day crises influencing the world at large and in specific cultures such as the American, Polish, Arab spring and the Bangladeshi culture. According to Bhagwat if people wish to ‘command and control’ others including those in other countries the same people are behind these tendencies that divide.

MOS’s chief further underlined that these evil forces bring about catastrophes and fall of societies and nations. He encouraged the community to watch against such inclinations arguing that although they may develop and spread, they wane in India given the nation’s capacity to counter them with great knowledge and wisdom.

Bhagwat also said that disbelief among educated people is increasing due to lack of role models and guidance. He expressed his disappointment to the aspect of untouchability being practised even today while there is no mention of it in the Hindu Shastras; and to those who convert to other religions after getting fed up with the practices of the Hindus. Thus, this commentary reflects Bhagwat’s approach to asserting that Indian wisdom can help confront the world problems.
