Criminals threatened the residents with violence if they do not stop protesting against BJP MLA Agnimitra Pal. The state government on the other hand said that negotiations cannot be carried out under duress. State Minister for Health, Chandrima Bhattacharya said that the government is even ready to sit down for a negotiation, but not under any condition. The doctors, however, say that negotiations have to be done with the intention of them being public and this can be done through involving 26 medical colleges in the state.
The parents of the victim also took to the streets with the other demonstrators for justice for their daughter. Also, actor Mithun Chakraborty is also supportive; he came for the protest even when his hand is fractured. At the same time, Trinamool Congress MLA Humayun Kabir threatened the doctors to stop striking as they were too interested in the welfare of their own rather than focusing on the agendas that endangered the general public.
