Role in the Freedom Movement
Prasad’s involvement in the freedom movement began in 1911, when he joined the Indian National Congress. Presidency and Legacy
In 1950, Prasad became the first President of India, a position he held for two consecutive terms until 1962. During his presidency, he worked tirelessly to promote education, social justice, and economic development. He was awarded the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honor, in 1962.
