Indian government will be celebrating Antyodaya Diwas 2024 on **25 September** on the occasion of birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhaya. He was a highly influential personality in the political life of India and had the theory known as *Integral Humanism*; this was the political theory that proposed growth that has a bottom-up impact at the social and economic society of the country.
The Indian government observed the day of 25th September as Antyodaya Diwas since 2014 to honour the life of Upadhyaya. It is a day that sets the pace for the implementation of various programmes that seek to improve the standards of the downtrodden and ignite positive change and proactively work on the development of sustainable solutions for the practice advantages of empowering the rural population.
Significance of Antyodaya Diwas
Antyodaya Diwas has a special place in the extermination of poverty and uplifting the standard of living of the Indians. The day makes people understand the need to have a ‘golden silver lining’ that can be attained only when we all have an equal chance at a decent living, decent education, decent health care, and decent income. On this occasion, the government appeals to the public on various welfare schemes that include Antyodaya Anna Yojana which is a welfare scheme in which food grains are distributed among the poor families at cheaper rates and other rural welfare oriented programmes.
