NIA Conducts Raids in Rajouri and Reasi Districts Following Reasi Terror Attack on Pilgrim Bus, Arrests Key Suspect for Aiding Terrorists

National Investigation Agency (NIA) has conducted raids at various locations in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi and Rajouri districts, in connection with its ongoing probe into the Reasi terror attack. On June 9, a group of terrorists had attacked a bus carrying pilgrims who had visited the Shiv Khori temple. Nine people were killed and over 40 persons injured in the terror attack.

The attack came on the bus when it was travelling towards Katra, which was targeted by terrorists, as driver lost control and bus ramed into a gorge near Teryath village of Pouni area of Reasi district. After the incident, Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) transferred the case to NIA on June 17 to probe all angles.

One Hakam Khan from Rajouri has been nabbed for helping the terrorists with shelter, food and logistic support and also carrying out a recce of the possible spot before undertaking the operation. The agency’s teams have also been conducting raids at Rajouri and Reasi to bust the network this person was part of.

The latest raids have come a couple of days after NIA teams on June 30 raided five locations in Rajouri to unearth the modus operandi of hybrid terrorists and are working to identify and dismantle the terror network that carries out the Reasi attack.
