Rahul Gandhi to Launch Congress Election Campaign in Jammu & Kashmir with Key Rallies in Sangaldan and Dooru, as J&K Assembly Elections 2024 Approach
Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi is all geared up to kick start the Congress party campaign for the upcoming Jammu & Kashmir Assembly polls with two rallies on Wednesday. For the first time in the election campaign Gandhi is scheduled to address meetings in both Jammu and Kashmir. The day starts with his presence at 10:00 a. m. at the Jammu airport after which he will travel by helicopter to Sangaldan in the Ramban district with an election meeting for the Congress candidate Vikar Rasool Wani at 11:00 a. m. The Sangaldan constituency is significant because the Congress and the NC could not arrive at a consensus on seat sharing hence both are fielding their own candidates.

The two flowing his campaign trail are the party’s general secretary Bharatsinh Solanki and state Congress president Tariq Hameed Karra. Following the rally in Sangaldan, Gandhi will campaign for the WSP candidate G. A. Mir in the Dooru Assembly constituency in Anantnag district at 12:30 p. m.

These rallies not only mark the beginning of Congress party campaign in Jammu & Kashmir but also open chance for other senior Congress leaders like Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge and may be Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to start their campaign in coming days. The first phase of the elections scheduled for September 18, will also witness three former presidents of JKPCC in the fray. The Congress & NC have joined hands before the elections, but while NC will fight 52 seats, Congress only 31, meaning both will be fighting 05 seats each in the state of J&K.
