Rahul Gandhi in London reminds India of values in a question by RSS Man’s daughter
Rahul Gandhi in London to an RSS Man’s Daughter, “India needs to go back to its values”
The Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, in his recent tour to London, commented on how India should go back to its values after being asked a question by the daughter of an RSS man.
In a session being held at the Chatham House in London, Malini Mehra a member of the audience who recognized herself as an Indian citizen said- “I am feeling wretched about the condition of my country. My father was an RSS man, proudly so; he would not recognize the country, bless his soul. For those of us who are outside India, how can we engage, re-empower our democracy?” she asked.
Rahul Gandhi shared the video on Twitter by saying-
It is the duty of every Indian, everywhere in the world, to speak up for India’s core values and protect our beloved democracy. pic.twitter.com/MQQweHkch4

Gandhi appreciated the woman for speaking up and said it was “a powerful thing to speak up.”
He also said that the comment coming from her made it more impactful, as something like this from him would have been labelled as biased.
“By telling people the values that you stand for, the values that are Indian and that you protect, by telling everybody in the rest of the world that India needs to go back to those values, you are doing a service, so thank you.”
