FIR Filed Against Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu for Controversial Remarks on Rahul Gandhi Amidst Arvind Kejriwal’s Campaign in Haryana
Recently, an FIR has been filed against Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu for his objectionable comments on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. These remarks were given in response to statements made by Gandhi during his visit to America on the state of Sikhs in India. The FIR was registered on Thursday on the basis of an FIR lodged by a member of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee.

The police have registered the case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Act for section 353(2) for causing mischief to spread false information, section 192 for arousing the disaffection of the public against the authority of the state, and section 196 for promotion of enmity on grounds of religion and other, etc. The FIR was registered under the numbers 88 in the High Grounds police station in Bengaluru.

Bittu, who is the Minister of State for Railways, said the whole thing on last Sunday where she labelled Gandhi as the ‘number one terrorist’ pointing to those manufacturing bombs as supporting him. This statement has caused controversy, with the Congress leaders protesting against Bittu’s words, calling her words illogical and unsubstantiated.
In another a political move up, the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is scheduled to visit campaigning in Haryana today. Kejriwal’s visit is aimed at strengthening AAP’s base in Haryana, which is getting prepared for the assembly elections while extending party’s influence beyond Delhi and Punjab.
