Rahul Gandhi, at the University of Texas, emphasized that the Bharat Jodo Yatra brought love into Indian politics. He also urged India to focus on domestic production to create jobs and reduce reliance on countries like China and Bangladesh.
During a talk at the University of Texas, Dallas, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi spoke about the Bharat Jodo Yatra and its impact on Indian politics. He said that the Yatra brought the idea of Love into politics, which is unusual in the political world. According to him, political discussions often focus on hate, anger, or corruption, but the Yatra showed that politics can also be about love and unity.
Rahul Gandhi explained that the Congress party decided to start the Bharat Jodo Yatra because all their regular ways of communicating were blocked. He felt that their voices were not being heard in Parliament, the media, or even in the courts. Because of this, they chose to walk across India to directly connect with people. This experience, he said, changed his views on politics and how to interact with citizens.

Gandhi also talked about India’s economic challenges. He believes India needs to rethink how it produces goods and creates jobs. He criticized the fact that India depends on countries like China, Vietnam, and Bangladesh for manufacturing. He said it is not right that these countries are leading in production, while India lags behind. He pointed out that Bangladesh is outperforming India in the textile industry and stressed that India must change its approach to production.
He also highlighted that while countries like China and Vietnam do not face major unemployment problems because they focus on production, countries like India, the U.S., and those in Europe do face such problems because they focus more on consumption. Gandhi emphasized that India must find a way to boost domestic production to create jobs and address social issues.
