The Harris campaign is attempting to get a debate on ABC News on September 10th, which was supposed to be a debate between Mr. Donald Trump and President Joe Biden. However, Mr. Trump claims that Mr. Biden’s withdrawal from the race “terminated” the ABC debate, and he has instead pushed for a discussion between himself and Ms. Harris on Fox News on September 4. On November 5, US voters will have the opportunity to choose between the two candidates for president.

To set up new dates, US TV networks have been in negotiations with both campaigns. On Friday night, Mr. Trump posted on his social media platform Truth Social that he had agreed to Fox News’ suggestion for a debate to be held in Pennsylvania, a crucial battleground state, on September 4. He said that the rules would be the same as his debate with Mr. Biden, and the moderators would be Martha MacCallum and Bret Baier of Fox News.

Mr. Trump went on to say that the previous agreement was canceled because Joe Biden was no longer involved and there would be a conflict of interest due to his defamation lawsuit against the station. In response, the Harris campaign claimed that the former president was “running scared” and was attempting to back out of the scheduled discussion. They claimed that he is looking to conservative cable network Fox News to “bail him out”. The director of communications for the Harris Campaign, Michael Tyler, stated, “He needs to stop playing games and show up to the debate he already committed to on September 10.”

“If you got something to say, say it to my face,” Ms. Harris urged Mr. Trump to engage in a debate during a campaign rally in Atlanta on Wednesday. The discussion news was released shortly after the US Secret Service missed in its response to the US Capitol attack on January 6, according to a report released by the Homeland Security Department.
