On Friday, August 30, the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, is likely to make a big move in the Maharashtra where the country’s financial as well as the financial bridesmaiden infrastructure. On the same day, the Vadhvan Port in Palghar is to be launched together with other projects implementing the goal of boosting development. Further, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will speak at the Global Fintech Fest (GFF) at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai.

The visit will start from Mumbai where PM Modi is planned to address at the Global Fintech Fest after 11 in the morning. This is one of the most significant events of the Payments Council of India and National Payments Corporation of India along with Fintech Convergence Council which is expected to host around 800 speakers from every field of the economy like policymakers, bankers, scholars, etc. The festival will have 350 sessions underlining the most promising fintech developments, 20 new thought leadership reports, and white papers to be published.

After the event in Mumbai, PM modi will go to Palghar which he is expected to arrive at around 1330 Hrs. Here, he will inaugurate the foundation stone of Vadhvan Port project which would be a huge project estimated to be of around ₹76,000 crores investment. This is a deep water port projec, at a distance of 175 km from Mumbai, at dahanu and the proposed capacity of this port makes it one of the largest port in india to enhance the maritime connectivety to make India as the global trading point. Through it, the transit time as well as the associated costs is expected to decrease while employment as well as business activities within the region will receive a boost in addition to better sustainable development principles being followed.

Other development projects that will be commissioned by PM Modi include those at the CIDCO ground at Palghar apart from the port. For instance, he will prepare ground for establishing 218 fishery projects with estimated cost of about ₹1,560 crores. They are as follows: These initiatives aims to improve infrastructure and productivity for fisheries leading to generation of jobs more than five lakh. The projects include Fishing harbours, Integrated Aquaparks, and the use of Technologies such as Recirculatory Aquaculture Systems, Biofloc etc.

The Prime Minister will also launch the National Rollout of the Vessel Communication and Support system, a ₹360 crores initiative. This project involves installing 1 lakh transponders on fishing vessels across 13 coastal states and union territories. Developed by ISRO, this system aims to facilitate two-way communication while at sea, aiding in rescue operations and ensuring the safety of fishermen.

In anticipation of his visit, PM Modi expressed enthusiasm about the day’s events, emphasizing the importance of the Vadhvan Port project and its role in advancing Maharashtra’s infrastructure. His visit highlights a commitment to enhancing India’s port infrastructure and fostering regional development, reflecting broader national objectives of economic growth and technological advancement.
