PM Modi to Celebrate International Women’s Day by Handing Over Social Media to Inspirational Women and Participating in an All-Women Security Event in Navsari
On the eve of International Women’s Day, Modi announced the transfer of his social media accounts to many inspirational women in recognition of their contributions on March 8. Tomorrow is Women’s Day. I will take part in a programme in Navsari. On the occasion of Women’s Day, I am going to hand over my social media account to some such inspiring sisters and daughters, he expressed.
International Women’s Day is celebrated every March 8 to appreciate the hard work women have done throughout history in order to attain equality. This initiative from PM Modi provides his government with scope to enhance women and further draw attention to their achievements.
During his address, the Prime Minister reiterated the vision of “saturation in policies” of his government. He stated that universal access to government benefits abolished discrimination and led to the satisfaction of the people. “The saturation in policies ensures that there will be no appeasement but satisfaction among the people. When the government reaches the doorstep of the beneficiaries, how will anyone be left and why will anyone be unhappy? And if none will be left, ‘thugs’ won’t succeed…,” he said.
He also spoke of MUDRA Yojana, which has been a great success in financing small entrepreneurs, stating, “The son of a poor mother decided that Modi would give a guarantee to the poor. Modi made a guarantee for the poor and started the MUDRA Yojana. Today, Rs 32 lakh crore has been given to the poor without any guarantee-and those who abused us, those who have the ‘zero seat’, will not understand this, not be able to even tell how many zeros are there in Rs 32 lakh crore…”.
All-Women Security Cover for the Event
PM Modi will attend a function on International Women’s Day at Vansi Borsi village in Navsari. In a first-of-its-kind arrangement, the whole gamut of security for this occasion will be in the hands of women officers of the Gujarat Police. The all-women security cover consists of 2,145 lady constables, 187 lady sub-inspectors, 61 lady inspectors, 16 lady deputy superintendents of police (SPs), five lady SPs, one lady inspector general (IG), and one lady additional director general of police (ADGP). The security for the event will be under the command of the women officers right from the helipad landing of PM Modi to the rally venue and its periphery. The operations will be coordinated by Gujarat Home Secretary Nipuma Torawane.
Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghavi expressed this initiative’s success when he said, “The Gujarat police is taking a unique initiative on the occasion of International Women’s Day. For the first time in the history of India, only women police will handle the entire security arrangement of the PM’s event – right from his arrival at the helipad at Vansi Borsi village in Navsari till the event venue”.
