The theft of a Goddess Kali crown that Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave to a well-known temple in Bangladesh in 2021 has occurred. The matter is being looked into by the local police.
From the Jeshoreshwari temple in Satkhira’s Shyamnagar, the crown was taken. Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave this crown as a gift to the shrine during his March 2021 visit. On Thursday, at about 2:00 pm, the theft occurred. After the day’s service, temple priest Dilip Mukherjee had left the premises. Later, the cleaning crew discovered that the deity’s head was without its crown, according to Bangladeshi media. The CCTV footage from the temple is being examined by the local police.
To find the thief, we are looking through the temple’s CCTV footage,” Shyamnagar Police Station Inspector Taizul Islam stated. The crown has a gold plating over a silver construction. One of the 51 Shakti Peeths dispersed over India and its neighboring nations is Jeshoreshwari Temple. “Goddess of Jeshore” is what the name “Jeshoreshwari” implies.
