PM Modi Stresses Diplomacy and Dialogue in Poland, Reiterates Commitment to Peaceful Resolution of Ukraine Conflict Ahead of Historic Visit
In his recent interaction with the Indian community in Poland, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about the importance of avoiding wars, and finding diplomatic solutions to problems in the global village just before his much-anticipated visit to Ukraine. Saying that it was not the age of war, Modi affirmed India’s support for harmony and order. He said that the present world scenario calls for cooperation not confrontation, which reveals that India prefers solving issues through talks and diplomacy.
Modi will be 73 year old when he will visit Ukraine and this will be the first time an Indian Prime Minister will be visiting Poland after 45 years of relationship, which is strategic partner of Ukraine and has close ties with India. He is due to arrive on August 23 in response to an invitation sent by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. On this visit, Modi plans to coordinate measures on how the ongoing unpleasant situation may be solved through peaceful means, which has always been India’s position – no war and nothing but diplomacy.

This visit happened few weeks after Modi’s much debated visit to Russia 6 weeks prior to this one and was distasteful to the US and other western powers. Modi expressed the ‘not an era of war’ vision for the first time in April this year in a bilateral summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding peaceful and sustainable resolves to world crisis such as food and fuel. Before leaving Poland, Modi reiterated his desire to see the region achieve stability and security in the near future, which continues to demonstrate his dedication to the maintenance of global peace and collaboration.
