Operation Ajay: First Flight Carrying 212 Indians Landed In Delhi, Over 18,000 Indians Still Stranded

Amid the war, Operation Ajay ensures the safe return of 212 Indian citizens from Israel. At the Delhi Airport, Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar welcomes them. MEA provides individuals affected with help around-the-clock.

Operation Ajay: First Flight Carrying 212 Indians from Israel reached Delhi Airport 

Following the Israel-Hamas conflict, the very first flight carrying 212 Indian citizens returning to India from Israel made a successful landing at Delhi Airport on Friday. According to ANI, Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar welcomed the returning citizens.

ANI shared a video on X, where Union Minister Rajeev Chandrashekar can be seen present at the airport to greet returning Indians. Later he also interacted with Students.

 

As part of Operation Ajay, the first batch of Indian tourists flew from Tel Aviv to India. These passengers were watched as they boarded a flight that had been expressly chartered and organized by India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to bring people back from Israel. ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ were being chanted by passengers.

Operation Ajay begins, the External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Thursday night, along with images of the first repatriation of the stranded individuals. On board, 212 passengers are traveling to New Delhi.

 

‘Operation Ajay’ was initiated by the government on Wednesday to rescue stranded nationals from Israel, which is currently involved in a severe battle with the terrorist organization Hamas. As the conflict began on October 7, Air India and other airlines stopped all of their commercial flights to and from Israel.

The Indians will return on specially chartered flights as part of this operation, and if necessary, Indian Navy ships would also be sent out.

Notably, 18,000 Indians are living in Israel, including workers, traders, and students.
