Is an Opposition Unity Possible?

The Maha Vikas Aghadi is an example that opposition unity is possible. The state-level coalition has been formed under the leadership of Shiv Sena’s Uddhav Thhackeary, Sharad Pawar of NCP, and Sonia Gandhi of Congress along with the Samajwadi Party, PWPI, CPI (M), and smaller parties and independent MLAs.

As the BJP holds a strong foot today, the opposition parties have been fighting hard to form an alliance that will allow them to unite and provide people with an alternative and put up a fight against the BJP. With a majority on its side, it is important that all the opposition parties come together to fight the ruling party if they want to win the next election.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and former president Rahul Gandhi will also be present at the meeting.

JDU chief also added- “Nitish Kumar is not a prime ministerial candidate. He is spearheading to build the BJP-free country. He is committed to strengthening Opposition unity. After the election, when the country becomes BJP-free, all parties would meet to discuss who would lead the country.”
