Nayab Singh Saini: BJP made history by winning a third consecutive term in Haryana


On Thursday, October 17, Nayab Singh Saini, a leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), took oath as the chief minister of Haryana for the second time. On Wednesday, Saini, aged 54, asserted his claim to lead the next government in Haryana, following his unanimous election as the BJP legislative party leader.
The swearing-in event of Saini and his cabinet members took place in Panchkula with the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah alongside other top BJP officials.

Extensive security measures

Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya administered the oath of office and secrecy to Saini. Ministers of Saini’s cabinet were also sworn in at the ceremony. Haryana can have a maximum of 14 ministers, including the chief minister. Extensive security measures have been put in place in Panchkula for the inauguration event, which was attended by approximately 50,000 individuals at Dussehra Ground in Sector 5 of Panchkula. A warning about traffic was also released near the event location.

Union Ministers Rajnath Singh

Senior leaders like Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma, Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat, Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, and Deputy CMs Arun Sao, Vijay Sharma, and Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan participated in Saini’s swearing-in ceremony. The ceremony was also attended by Union Ministers Rajnath Singh and Manohar Lal Khattar.

Haryana elections

In the recent October 5 election, the BJP made history by winning a third consecutive term in Haryana, securing 48 out of 90 seats in the assembly. The Congress secured victory in 37 constituencies. Breaking from the usual custom, the BJP announced that Saini would continue as chief minister if the party won the Haryana assembly polls.
