The former Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi, who also served as a leader of India, died on 21st May, 1992 in Colony of Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu (State). It also stressed the importance of national solidarity and the intolerance of terrorism.
Day of Action (1998).
In view of the urgent necessity of a special day dedicated for the remembrance of the victims of terror and for uniting efforts in the fight against terror, the Government of India proclaimed May 21st as the “National Anti-Terrorism Day” in 1998.
