Fire Strikes Mumbai Hotel: Fatalities, Rescue Operation, and Extinguishing Efforts

A fire erupted in a five-story hotel located in Mumbai’s Santacruz area, specifically on the second floor of the Galaxy Hotel in Prabhat Colony. The incident prompted a rescue operation, with injured victims hurriedly taken to Cooper Hospital for medical treatment. The fire was categorized as a level-one fire, and emergency response teams dispatched four fire engines and multiple water tankers to the scene.

Fatalities and Injuries in Hotel Fire:

Tragically, hospital officials announced that Rupal Kanji (25), Kishan (28), and Kantilal Gordhan Vara (48) were pronounced deceased upon arrival.Meanwhile, Alfa Vakhariya (19) and Manjula Vakhariya (49) sustained injuries and are receiving treatment. The fire caused significant damage, including burnt wiring, furniture, air conditioning, and mattresses in rooms 103 and 203, as well as laundry clothes, room blankets in the staircase and lobby, and common duct wiring from the first to third floors.

The blaze, classified as a Level I fire by fire brigade standards, was successfully extinguished by 3:20 p.m. using various fire fighting measures, including hose lines, a high-pressure first aid line, four fire engines, four water tankers, and related equipment.
