Jaipur: A Rajasthan minister was removed from his position after he questioned his government’s efforts to control crimes against women in the Assembly. His comments came just after Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed anger over the Manipur violence issue, where two women were paraded naked in a horrifying video. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot recommended the dismissal of Minister of the State, Rajendra Singh Gudha, and the Governor accepted the recommendation.

Gudha Criticizes Rajasthan Govt:
During the deliberation on the Rajasthan Minimum Income Guarantee Bill 2023, members of the Congress party brought up the topic of violence in Manipur. However, Mr. Gudha criticized his own government, stating that they had failed to provide security to women in Rajasthan.
The BJP’s Leader of the Opposition, Rajendra Rathore, used Mr. Gudha’s comments to attack the state government, highlighting the principle of collective responsibility in the Constitution.
Manipur Violence, PM’s Assurances:
The controversy between the Centre and the opposition regarding the Manipur violence has escalated since the shocking video emerged. PM Modi assured that those responsible would not be spared, and he urged all Chief Ministers to prioritize law and order concerning crimes against women. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge criticized the PM’s response and questioned his silence inside Parliament.
The issue has sparked nationwide outrage, emphasizing the need for strict action against such heinous crimes across India.
