Delhi Court extends AAP Leader Manish Sisodia’s CBI custody
Ex-Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia’s CBI custody extended for 2 days
Former deputy chief minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia CBI custody extended for two more days, a Delhi’s Rouse Avenue court ruled on 4th March. The Aam Aadmi Party leader has applied for bail in the Delhi liquor scam. CBI had sought three days of further remand for Sisodia but the court has remanded him to two days of custody.
Manish Sisodia addressed the court and claimed, “It is a sort of mental harassment only. Last time my lawyer said about third degree (that it should be ensured that third degree should not happen. They respect us. But after 8 to 10 hours of sitting, the same questions were repeated is the third degree only. It is mental harassment.”

The Court asks CBI not to ask repetitive questions to Sisodia and also to conduct his medical tests at regular intervals.
In his bail plea, Delhi Minister stated that keeping him in custody will ‘serve no fruitful purpose’ as all the recoveries in the case have already been made.

AAP’s leader faces corruption charges in framing a liquor policy for the national capital, which was scrapped after Delhi LG VK Saxena flagged it to the CBI.
Siosida resigned from his post in the Delhi Cabinet on 28th February.
A day after his arrest, Sisodia went to the Supreme Court but the apex court asked him that he should have gone to the high court, after which he withdrew his application and moved to the trial court.
Security has been beefed up with Delhi Police, Rapid Action Force and Central Reserve Police Force deployed outside Delhi’s CBI headquarters. The probing agency struggles to produce Sisodia before the court at the end of his 5-day remand amid the AAP party protests.
After being named as an accused in the FIR, Sisodia was arrested on February 26 following interrogation of more than 8 hours.
