Mahmood Madani: India Belongs to me as well as PM Modi and Bhagwat
Mahmood Madani: Muslim organisation is not opposed to the BJP and the RSS
The head of the Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, Maulana Mahmood Madani, stated on Saturday that although the Muslim organisation is not opposed to the BJP and the RSS, ideological differences between them still exist. According to Mahmood Madani, the false interpretation of Hindutva is being propagated, and its latest incarnation is in opposition to the spirit of India.
Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind head Mahmood Madani claimed that India is 1st homeland of Muslims & Islam is the oldest among all religions.

He was speaking during the 34th General Session of the Jamiat, which got underway on Friday at the Ram Lila grounds in New Delhi. On Sunday, the gathering’s plenary session will take place.
India is our country. This country is Mahmood’s as well as Narendra Modi’s and Mohan Bhagwat’s, in equal measure. Mahmood and they are both only a few inches apart from one another. The uniqueness of this land is that Adam (peace be upon him), the first Prophet of Islam, is descended from that too. Islam originated in this region, which was also the first Muslim homeland. Therefore, it is entirely false and historically unfounded to assert that Islam is an alien faith, Madani stated in his speech on Friday.

“Islam is the oldest religion and the official religion of this country. Muhammad (peace be upon him) was sent to finish the same religion that had flourished in India. Therefore, I can say confidently that India is the finest country for Hindi Muslims, just as a person’s home is the best place to live, despite how its oganised”.
Mahmood Madani stated during his speech that Pasmanda Muslims face discrimination and that JUH will fight to get their reservation. He appreciated the government’s efforts to improve the lot of the Pasmandas but insisted that more must be done in this area.
His remarks take on significance in light of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s request to party members at the most recent BJP national executive conference to engage Pasmanda Muslims in the run-up to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
“A reservation is needed for Pasmandas. We regret the caste-based injustice that is occurring. Muslims are all equal. Islam does not tolerate discrimination based on caste”.
After Nupur Sharma, a former BJP spokesperson, made controversial remarks against the Prophet Mohammed during a TV debate, a dispute broke out, sparking protests and a storm of criticism from all sides. Nupur Sharma was the subject of numerous FIRs for allegedly using hate speech, and her remark sparked outrage among Muslims around the world. Subsequently, the BJP suspended Nupur Sharma.
The head of the Jamiat stated, “The ideas of the RSS are troubling, but recent remarks made by the current RSS president Mohan Bhagwat must also be taken into consideration”.
He stated, “We are not against RSS and BJP, we have ideological differences. We welcome the RSS chairman and its leaders to resolve the problems. Every citizen has equal rights.
He continued by asserting that the nation’s educational system is becoming saffronized. “Books from one religion shouldn’t be forced on people from another. This violates the principles of the Indian constitution and is unacceptable to Muslims, he stated during the event.
Mahmood Madani further said that the hate crimes and statements were seen by the Modi government and its administration. The well-known Muslim organisation has urged that a distinct rule be developed to punish anyone who expressly promote violence against minorities. The group adopted a number of resolutions on Friday, one of which highlighted the country’s alleged surge in hate crimes and Islamophobia.
“There are 140 crore people living in our country, which is diverse but also cohesive. Muslims have been important in this. The mere idea that we should have travelled to Pakistan, or that we should have gone, or that we should have taken our hissa, is wrong,” he stated.
“We were born and raised in this country. The majority of this country is not who we are fighting. Manbhed nahi hai matbhed hai, and with certain people at that,” added Mahmood.
