A lizard accidentally found its way into the cooking pot, unbeknownst to the cooks. The unwitting inclusion of this uninvited guest led to the children feeling unwell within an hour of consuming the meal.

There, medical care was administered promptly, and thankfully, the children’s conditions stabilized. The incident has sparked concern among Education Department officials, prompting the initiation of a thorough inquiry. Stringent measures are promised against those accountable for the oversight of meal preparation.
This unfortunate event in Annamayya echoes a similar incident in October at Anikgaon Hindi-medium school in Chembur, where 16 students aged 11 to 12 fell ill after consuming a midday meal. These incidents highlight the importance of vigilance in ensuring the safety and quality of meals provided to students across schools.
