The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), connected with the CPI(M), and the Students’ Federation of India (SFI), indicated that renovations had started in the vicinity of the seminar room where the body of the doctor was found only a few days prior. They came to demonstrate at the hospital’s Emergency building gate, claiming that the police were attempting to obliterate evidence and shield the actual offenders.
