Left-wing organisations and the Bharatiya Janata Party have accused officials at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital of trying to tamper with evidence linked to the incident, sparking a new political controversy in the Kolkata doctor’s rape and murder case.
The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), connected with the CPI(M), and the Students’ Federation of India (SFI), indicated that renovations had started in the vicinity of the seminar room where the body of the doctor was found only a few days prior. They came to demonstrate at the hospital’s Emergency building gate, claiming that the police were attempting to obliterate evidence and shield the actual offenders.

Sanjoy Roy, a volunteer for the community, has been detained by the Kolkata Police thus far in relation to the rape and murder of the thirty-one-year-old doctor. On Wednesday morning, the Central Bureau of Investigation assumed control of the case.
They have already tampered with a lot of evidence,” stated Suvendu Adhikari, a BJP MLA and the Assembly’s Leader of Opposition. The case needs to be taken on by the CBI right now. Mamata Banerjee, the state’s home minister and chief minister, has already been called to resign.
As directed by the Calcutta high court, a CBI team has traveled to Kolkata to assume responsibility for the investigation into the trainee doctor’s rape and murder case. A well trained medical and forensic team from Delhi has also been brought in by the CBI. Following the Federation of All India Medical Association’s (FAIMA) request for a statewide shutdown of outpatient clinic services starting on Tuesday in protest of the sexual assault and death of a female doctor, doctors and medical students staged a demonstration at AIIMS Delhi.
