An improvised explosive device targeted a convoy of foreign diplomats, causing a roadside bomb that killed one policeman and injured four others, according to a Pakistani official on Sunday.
The province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which borders Afghanistan and serves as a base for extremist organizations like the Pakistani Taliban, was the destination of the diplomats’ voyage, which included a tourist area.

Indonesia, Portugal, Kazakhstan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Vietnam, Iran, Russia, and Tajikistan were among the nations represented by the diplomats in the convoy. According to police officer Javed Khan, everyone is secure, and there is a significant security presence at the location.
The explosion took place approximately 250 kilometers (155 miles) north of the provincial capital Peshawar, at the popular tourist destination and hill station of Malam Jabba, one of Pakistan’s two ski resorts.
Although no one has officially taken credit for the incident, Islamabad officials stated that terrorists connected to the Pakistani Taliban are largely to blame for the region’s bloodshed. Each year, millions of local and foreign tourists visit Swat, a former Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) stronghold noted for its beautiful scenery and ancient religious sites.
