In a tragic incident in Karnataka News from Uttara Kannada, a young woman named Nethra Gowali, just 24 years old, took her own life. It’s heart-wrenching to learn that she was allegedly subjected to harassment by an individual she befriended on Instagram. Nethra was a resident of Hadavalli village near Bhatkal town.
Father Seeks Justice for Daughter
Her grieving father filed a complaint against Govardhana Moger, the person in question, and called for legal action. According to the police, Nethra had known the accused for about a year, but the situation took a distressing turn when he began pressuring her to enter a romantic relationship. When she firmly declined his advances, he resorted to harassment, demanding the return of money he had spent on her.

To make matters worse, the accused even resorted to blackmail, threatening to make Nethra’s photos go viral on social media. The relentless torment became too much for her to bear, ultimately leading to the tragic decision she made on Wednesday.
