Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah held a review meeting in Haveri district to assess its progress and directed officials to focus on improving various parameters. He emphasized that the district should make strides in health, income, human development, and education indices, as it lags behind the state average in these areas. Haveri district ranks low in health, income, human development, and education indices, mainly relying on agriculture and animal husbandry. The Chief Minister stressed the need for job creation and asked the Deputy Commissioner to devise an action plan.

Accountability and Efficiency:
Siddaramaiah urged officials to work proactively and efficiently, meeting the expectations of the people who elected them to power. He emphasized the importance of quality seeds, pesticides, and fertilizers in agriculture and demanded immediate action against complaints of poor seed quality. Expressing displeasure over absent officials, he emphasized accountability and asked for reasons for their absence.

Farmer Loan Increase:
The Chief Minister announced an increase in interest-free loans for farmers and suggested credit facilities up to 15 lakhs with a three percent interest rate. He sought updates on the implementation of the state government’s guarantee schemes and instructed officials from various departments to ensure effective functioning and proper implementation.
