Kangana Ranaut’s “Emergency” Faces Delays in Certification Due to Controversial Content and Threats: Actress Speaks Out on the Censor Board’s Challenges
The highly anticipated political drama that Kangana Ranaut has been gearing up for has been slowed down in its trek to theaters. The film which is a biopic on the erstwhile Indian Prime Minister Mrs. Indiraji Gandhi was initially passed by CBFC. But, in one of his recent posts on Twitter and Instagram, Ranaut was forced to reveal that the movie has not been certified yet due to some issues that stood beyond expectations.

In the light of these controversies and speculations, Ranaut recorded a video message in which she clarified the truth about the film. She then pointed out that the certification work of Emergency has been stopped from moving forward despite of previous clearances. As she put it, this has been due to “numerous death threats” from social media about the heads of the censor board who have been forced to change their mind about the film. She complained that she had to leave out important parts of history such as the Gandhi assassination, the Bhindranwale issue and the Punjab riots.

The comments of Ranaut regarding the current state of affairs seems to be of discontent and she laments about the present state of affairs in general and as it threatens artistic freedom. The film proud to have the cast like Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair and Satish Kaushik. Looking at the problems that still arise in Emergency’s production, only time will tell how the situation will evolve and affect the film.
