Terrorists Abduct Two Territorial Army Jawans in Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir; One Soldier Escapes While Search Operation for the Missing Jawans Intensifies
On October 9, two Territorial Army jawans were kidnapped by terrorists in a forest area in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir region. People also say that among the soldiers one was able to free himself and return home, while the other has not been seen to this date.

The incident has created concern over the security of armed forces personnel in the area that has been under attacks by militants. After the disappearance of one of the Indian soldiers, the security forces have started the search operation to find the missing jawan. The hunting by the security personnel of the terrorist and safe recovery of the abducted soldier is being embarked on by the security teams at the forest area and its periphery.

This incident happens at the backdrop of the efforts being made to fight terrorism in the Kashmir Valley. Al-Qaida and other militant groups have not been active in recent years, however these sporadic acts pose a threat to the security of the region. The process of searching for the kidnapped soldier is still on and security forces are committed to rescue him besides ailing to arrest the terrorists.
