A tragic incident occurred when an Indian woman allegedly jumped from the Spectrum of the Seas cruise ship while it sailed through the Singapore Strait. This prompted her son to seek help from the Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministry of External Affairs, expressing concerns about the cruise company’s handling of the situation.The family expressed gratitude to Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, the PMO, and the Indian Embassy in Singapore for their assistance.

Cruise Crew’s Negligence:

According to the woman’s son, the cruise crew informed him about his mother’s jump, but they failed to provide surveillance footage and didn’t conduct a rescue operation. The woman’s husband was also taken off the ship. The Indian High Commission is in touch with the family and coordinating with Singaporean authorities to address the situation and legal procedures.

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) reported that the passenger fell into the Singapore Strait, and the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) is coordinating the search. They have issued a navigational safety broadcast to alert ships in the area to look for the missing person.
