India, China Skirmishes Near LAC Arunachal’s Tawang Border: Rajnath Singh Addressed Parliament
The two sides quickly disengaged from the region after the troops scuffled near LAC
More than 300 Chinese troops entered the (LAC) Line of Actual Control last week. According to government sources, such conflicts have been occurring since 2006 as a result of “differing perceptions of the border”.
There are zones of different perception along the LAC in the Tawang Sector of Arunachal Pradesh, where both countries patrol and protect their claim lines.
In reaction to the incident, the Indian commander in the region met with his Chinese counterpart under the banner of adhering to “organised methods to restore the peace,” according to the government.
In the Galwan Valley in Ladakh, which is next to the Tibetan plateau controlled by the Chinese, Indian and Chinese troops engaged in hand-to-hand fighting in June 2020.
Twenty Indian soldiers died as a result of the incident, while China also sustained an unspecified number of injuries. Their troops previously followed long-standing norms to avoid using any firearms at the de facto boundary known as the Line of Actual Control over the 3,800 kilometres shared by India and China.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh addressed the Lok Sabha on Tuesday at noon. He further added, “I am confident this House will respect capability, valour and commitment of our armed forces: Rajnath Singh in Lok Sabha. Our armed forces are committed to protecting the territorial integrity of our country: Rajnath Singh in Lok Sabha on Tawang clash.”
“Our armed forces are always ready to stop any attempt of transgression at our borders”, said Rajnath Singh.
“No loss of life or any serious injury to our soldiers”, the Defence Minister confirmed in Lok Sabha on the Tawang clash with Chinese troops.
