India and Singapore Strengthen Ties with Key MoUs in Digital Technologies and Semiconductors
India and Singapore sign MoUs to boost ties in semiconductors, digital tech, healthcare, and skills development during PM Modi's visit for strategic cooperation.
India and Singapore Forge New Alliances with MoUs on Semiconductors, Digital Tech, Healthcare, and Skill Development as PM Modi and Lawrence Wong Meet
India and Singapore have recently progressed their bilateral strategic ties with some essential Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) in digital technology, semiconductor, health, and skill development. The agreement comes a week after an Indo-Singapore leaders’ summit during which Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Singapore counterpart Lawrence Wong signed a number of cooperation deals.

The viewpoints mentioned above are clearly articulated in one of the most significant MoUs, which have been inked between the Indian Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology and the Singapore Ministry of Digital Development & Information. The deal is to advance cooperation in digital technology, with focus on cybersecurity, 5G technology, quantum computing, and artificial intelligence. The partnership will also train and re-train the workforce to be conversant with technology in the digital economy hence enhance technology in both nations.

The next major landmark accord was SEMI ecosystem partnership which will control Singapore’s investment in India’s emerging semiconductor sector. Singapore takes the 10% of chips produced worldwide and it is considered as the major participant in giving chips to the world requirement of semi-conductors. This MoU can help the two countries to work together in creating a semiconductor cluster as well as developing talent in this important industry.
Moreover, the two countries signed Memorandum of Understanding in health care sector for the processing of research development and innovations in pharmaceuticals and medical training. A specialized cooperation in the area of skill development will improve the participants’ further vocational training and create conditions for workforce development in the two countries.

The current PM Modi’s visit enhanced the India-Singapore CPA to show the depth of cooperation between two countries in many fields ranging from manufacturing to sustainability.
