With an impressive swiftness, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited the affected regions, gauging the nature of the calamity. He also inspected several sump pump houses; he instructed officials to know how the city is going to be more prepared to address the issue of water logging that results from rainfall in the near future. This was a timely response by the government that brought out the fact that something had to be done to save the lives of people who were in a constant danger from the pandemic.

This is true given that owing to the worsening waterlogging situation on roads, Urban Development and Housing Minister Nitin Nabin declared a meeting. He concisely underlined the need for action, demoted senior officers on leave, recalled all leaves until September 30. The minister agreed with the inadequacies that ensued from the ill-preparedness and urged for the enhancement of the response system that would prevent such incidents.
With the conditions prevailing presently turning into continuous rainfall the water levels of major rivers including Gandak, Kosi, Ganga etc have started increasing the state government has instructed district officials to be on alert. While the situation is not yet critical, authorities are alert for a higher increase in the water level as a way of containing the catastrophe.
