Haryana Tragedy: Faridabad Student Killed by Cow Vigilantes in Grave Mistake
Haryana: A Faridabad student, Aryan Mishra, was mistakenly shot dead by cow vigilantes who thought he was a cattle smuggler, after a high-speed chase.
Tragic Shooting in Faridabad: Class-12 Student Aryan Mishra Mistaken for Cattle Smuggler by Vigilantes, Killed After 30 km Chase
On August 23, 2024, a class 12 student, Aryan Mishra from faridabad haryana was brutally lynched by a group of cow vigilantes who thought he was involved in cattle smuggling. The action took place on the route leading to Agra, specifically near Gadhpuri; the attackers pursued the car driven by Aryan for about 30 kilometers.

The accused named in the case were named as Anil Kaushik, Varun, Krishna, Adesh, and Saurabh were informed about the said cattle smugglers in that region. Saying the smugglers have currently been using Renault Duster and Toyota Fortuner among other vehicles, the officials laid a trap by arresting Imtiaz, who was in a Duster car parked at Patel Chowk. Innocently, they were aboard of the vehicle with Aryan and two other friends, namely Shanky and Harshit.

When the vigilantes wielded sticks and gestured towards the car for it to stop, Aryan and his friends who were scared for their lives due to existing enmity with each other because of a fight that Shanky had with one of them. They quickened instead of slowing down and this forced the vigilantes to shoot at them. The first bullet hit the neck region and the second after the car had stopped, it hit the chest region of Aryan. Shame washes upon them and left the scene of the crime after seeing two women inside the vehicle. Aryan’s condition deteriorated so he was taken to a hospital but unfortunately he died the next morning.

This tragedy is a good example of what always happens when people take law in their own hands and the worst that could happen to anyone when a mistake is made. Meanwhile, in more such incidents, the Haryana police have arrested the eighth accused in the lynching of a migrant labourer for allegedly consuming beef in the Dadri village. Recent violence has been strongly condemned by Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, which maintains that it is a systematic plan to intensify communal riots prior to elections.
