Gyanvapi Mosque Survey: Day 5, the exploration of the Tahkhana anticipated. Symbol Disputes Amidst Scientific Investigation

Under tight security, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) continues its Gyanvapi mosque survey for the fifth consecutive day. The prominent scientific investigation now focuses on the basement or Tahkhana, and precautions are taken throughout. Photography and videography inside the Tahkhana are prohibited, as stated by Sudhir Tripathi, the lawyer representing the Hindu side.

Exploration of the Tahkhana:

Rekha Pathak, the Hindu side petitioner, expresses excitement about the ongoing survey process, especially the exploration of the Tahkhana. She details their routine of supervising the survey, which occurs from 8 am to 5 pm daily.

Survey Dispute:

Earlier, the Muslim side had threatened to boycott the survey if there were any rumors about discovering Hindu symbols or objects. Vishnu Shankar Jain, representing the Hindu side, emphasizes that the survey is a scientific endeavor for structural analysis and architecture study, differing from sensationalized expectations.

Claims of finding a trishul and kalash in the Tahkhana during the survey, spread through media, were challenged by Syed Mohammad Yasin from the Anjuman Intezamia Masjid, the mosque’s managing body.

The ASI team conducts essential analysis, including photography, measurement, and mapping of tombs, and a broader study of the campus. GDPR machines are utilized for this purpose.
