Three points, in particular, were the major aberrations that angered the Government and led to CM Stalin’s hasty resolution. The Governor removed a portion of his speech’s 12th point, which talked about how maintaining law and order is the state’s “highest priority” and how the state is doing all possible to “ensure that the State continues to be a haven of peace and tranquilly, free from any type of violence.” Additionally, he ignored the 64th point, which discussed how the state’s Government responded to pandemics and natural disasters that occurred there.
The 65th point was skipped entirely in the Governor’s speech as well. This Government is founded on social justice, self-respect, inclusive growth, equality, women’s empowerment, secularism, and compassion toward all, according to the portion the Governor didn’t read. This Government has been providing its citizens with the highly regarded Dravidian governance model, according to the beliefs and values of luminaries like Thanthai Periyar, Annal Ambedkar, Perunthalaivar Kamarajar, Perarignar Anna, and Muthamizh Arignar Kalaignar.
An official from the Government who monitors the Assembly’s procedures stated that they were taken aback by what was occurring in the House. “He (Governor Ravi) also appears to have missed a few occurrences of the words “Tamil Nadu” and “Dravida model development” in the speech. The official added that the original address written and the Governor’s final speech are being examined.
According to Stalin, the Governor’s original address was approved before it was printed, distributed to every member on their digital tablets, and made available on paper for those who requested it. He alleged that Governor Ravi was “against the Dravidian model principles of government” and that his actions were inappropriate. Additionally, he said that Governor Ravi needed to fully and adequately read the language that had been drafted by the Government and approved by him. He said that the Governor’s action was not only against the DMK but also against the Government, saying, “It was not only wrong, it also violated the rules of the legislature.”
Following the Incident, The hashtag #Article356 has begun to trend on social media among people who support Governor RN Ravi’s decision to leave the Tamil Nadu Assembly.
