Good news: Avani Chaturvedi becomes 1st IAF Woman Fighter pilot to participate in aerial war games aboard

Inspiring young women, an Indian Air Force (IAF) female fighter pilot, Squadron Leader Avani Chaturvedi will be the first female fighter pilot of the IAF to be a part of an international joint exercise aboard.
She will be in the Indian contingent for the maiden ‘Veer Guardian 2023’ joint exercise between India and Japan. This exercise is expected to take place from January 12 to 26. Japan is expected to host this exercise at the Hyakuri Air Base.
Khush Khabri : India marks nearly 99% decline in cases of Kala-Azar disease
India’s effort to eradicate Kala-Azar disease got a tap on its shoulder as India registered a 98.7% decline in cases of Kala-Azar between 2007 and 2022.
The cases came down from 44533 in 2007 to 834 in 2022. 632 endemic blocks have gained elimination status which is less than one case per 10000.

Madhi Rathwa, an 18-year-old schoolgirl, won a gold medal in the javelin throw at the National Athletics Championships organised by the Indian Blind Sports Association in Delhi on December 14.
Madhi is a student in Class 8 at Surabhi Lions Blind School and has been involved in athletics since she was a little child. The teen initially struggled with the training, but an hour of practice every day helped her gain strength.
She also participated in competitions at the district level and the Khel Mahakumbh.
