Goa CM promises action against IPS officer facing allegations of misconduct towards a woman at a nightclub. Sawant’s commitment came forth during a session in the Goa assembly, prompted by Opposition member Vijai Sardesai. According to a report presented to Sawant, the woman and her companion purportedly encountered unsettling advances from the recently deployed IPS officer. The incident has spurred internal inquiry even in the absence of a formal complaint. The Goa police chief, Jaspal Singh, conveyed their preliminary findings to Pramod Sawant for further action.

Officer’s Misconduct:
Vijai Sardesai, president of Goa Forward Party, called for the officer’s immediate suspension and recall, branding the incident as a stain on the police’s commitment to women’s safety and empowerment. Although no formal complaint was made, the police launched an internal inquiry. Jaspal Singh, the Goa police chief, confirmed that a report was sent to the chief minister for further action. He mentioned that the incident came to their attention through social media and, based on preliminary findings, it appeared to be valid. Formal statements from the parties involved are yet to be taken.
