Farmers' protest march from Noida to Delhi today: Check traffic diversions, routes to avoid here

The ongoing farmers’ movement is now going to take another significant step as Bhartiya Kisan Parishad (BKP), along with a few other organizations of the farmers, including Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM) and Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM), is going to march towards Delhi on December 2. This march is part of their ongoing struggle to seek compensation and benefits under the new agricultural laws. The first group of farmers, led by BKP leader Sukhbir Khalifa, will start their march from under the Maha Maya flyover in Noida at noon.

Speaking to ANI, Khalifa emphasized, “We are ready for our march towards Delhi. On December 2, we will start our march from under the Maha Maya flyover (in Noida), and we will reach there to demand our compensation and benefits as per the new laws.” The protestors have sought to bring attention to their demands for better compensation and benefits under the new agricultural policies, which they feel are not in favor of the farming community.

In an attempt to minimize the impact of this mass movement on the daily commuters, the Noida authorities have issued a traffic advisory. They have alerted the public to congestion possibilities on the major routes, and they advise the commuters to use alternative routes and opt for public transport, particularly the Delhi Metro, in order to avoid the congestions.

Traffic Restrictions and Measures
Traffic diversions and restrictions have been put in place at all key entry points across Delhi in anticipation of massive protests.
Both Delhi Police and Gautam Buddh Nagar Police are said to be making necessary arrangements to regulate the flow of traffic through various borders and routes. Barriers have been erected to control this traffic, and some of the roads will face diversions and restrictions to avoid bottlenecks and ensure public safety.

Heavy vehicles, which include goods carriers, will not be allowed into Delhi from the Yamuna Expressway, Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, and Surajpur. The rationale is to avoid congestion on these routes so that passenger vehicles could move through more smoothly.

Alternate Route Suggestions
Alternate routes have been found that can be taken while moving in the Noida and Greater Noida sectors to avoid the resultant mess caused by the marchers.
For vehicles coming from Chilla Border to Greater Noida, they will take the Sector 14-A flyover, then Golchakkar in Sector-15 and straight to Sandeep Paper Mill Chowk and Jhunjhupura Chowk.

Those coming from the DND Border reach Delhi via the Film City flyover and then take a route to Sector-18, from where they again take the Elevated Road to reach Delhi without much delay. Those coming from the Kalindi Border can take the Mahamaya flyover and then go directly to Sector-37 to easily reach their destination.

For people coming from Greater Noida to reach Delhi, it has been advised that they should use Charkha Golchakkar and then go ahead for Kalindi Kunj as that route is easier to enter the capital. The residents of Greater Noida, coming from Sector-51 are recommended to take the underpass at Hajipur and go ahead for Kalindi Kunj passing through Sector-51 and Model Town.

Also, those coming from Yamuna Expressway should take the exit at Jewar toll, go towards Khurja and then to their destination through Jahangirpur. For Peripheral Expressway travelers, it is suggested that they avoid the Sirska exit and instead take the Dadri or Dasna exit to reach Delhi more quickly and safely.

Noida Police Advice for Commuters
To avoid the tangles, Noida Police has asked commuters to use Delhi Metro, which is supposed to be smooth and faster. It is considered to be a safe and hassle-free option for traveling on such high-traffic days. Apart from that, travelers are requested to stay updated with the traffic reports, which would give real-time information about diversions, disruptions, and congestion.

Noida police has arranged a helpline at 9971009001 in case of emergencies or queries related to traffic, and the authorities ensure assistance is provided to those facing trouble because of protests or diversions on roads.
These precautions, coupled with using the suggested alternate routes, would minimize disruptions for commuters to reach their destinations without delays.
