In a shocking incidence, an ED team was on Thursday attacked while probing a case of cyber crime in Delhi. The incident took place in Bijwasan, where the officials had come to probe the illegal activities concerning the PPPYL Cyber App. In the meanwhile, while the inquiry was conducted, they were beaten up unexpectedly by the primary accused Ashok Sharma and his family members themselves.

The attack injured one of the ED officers, who happens to be an Assistant Director, though the extent of his injuries is not yet clear. The attackers reportedly launched the attack as the ED team was investigating the case in routine. While the officers managed to secure themselves and call for assistance, one of the accused managed to escape the scene, thus heightening the need for a manhunt.

Local police were quickly alerted and dispatched to the area to control the situation. Upon their arrival, they ensured the safety of the ED officers and took immediate steps to preserve evidence and secure the area. The police have since launched a search operation to track down the fleeing suspect, who remains at large.

The FIR has been registered regarding the assault, and further investigations are being conducted by the authorities. The attack has caused apprehensions regarding the safety of the law enforcement officials while on duty, especially in sensitive cases with complex cyber crimes.

This case is believed to be associated with a PPPYL Cyber App scam during which several individuals claimed to be victims of fraud schemes organized using the very same app. The case is being probed by ED that aims to unveil the overall extent of fraud committed and bringing culprits to justice.

This incident calls to attention the growing threats met by law enforcement officers, especially in investigating high-profile financial and cyber crimes. The authorities have assured the public that all measures shall be taken to ensure the safety of the teams during future investigations.
