DU gets over 1.80 lakh applications in phase-II of UG admissions: Check most sought after courses
At phase two of the Common Seat Allotment System (CSAS), over 1.80 lakh students applied to Delhi University (DU) for undergraduate admissions for the academic year 2024–25. DU got an enormous response to its undergraduate admissions program. A spike in activity was observed on the university’s admission portal when applicants finalized their program and college options on the CSAS portal, especially as the deadline drew near. The deadline for submissions is set for 11:59 p.m., as per university representatives. They further stated that a total of 2.47 lakh students had registered for admission to the university.

A total of 1,80,109 students have indicated their choice to be admitted into the university’s undergraduate programs. There are 2,47,273 registered students following the first phase. According to Hanit Gandhi, the dean of the admission branch, we have received 1,59,56,834 combinations of choices overall, as reported by news agency.

About the B. com programme, Gandhi said that it is the most popular course among the students today. Other most sought courses in the university are English Hons, Political Science Hons, History Hons, Psychology Hons and Economics Hons, according to the Gandhi. The Delhi University (DU) had earlier said that the preferences filled by the students would be auto-locked at 12 am on Friday and the choices that are filled by the students will be taken into consideration for the distribution of the seats if a student fails to lock his or her choices properly.
Delhi University admission – 2024-25
University has announced that the first list allotment of admission will be published on 16 Aug. They informed that the Delhi University began the first stage of the CSAS on May 28. Admissions have been announced for 79 courses of 71, 000 seats in 69 colleges of the university. There are approximately 183 fields of study for combination in these colleges in the BA programme. Following the standard practice in the Indian universities, the admissions in the Delhi University are being done thrice through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal.
