When the new BJP administration took power Atishi returned as former CM of Delhi to demand fulfillment of the promises the party made in its election campaign ¹.

Gupta responded to Atishi by stating that the AAP leader lacks authority to instruct the BJP government regarding its actions. Gupta guaranteed the fulfillment of all government promises to public constituents. During the election campaign the BJP established a financial benefit program for women according to their manifesto.

Atishi criticized the BJP for dishonesty toward Delhi women because the government failed to launch the scheme during its initial cabinet session. According to her statements the Prime Minister Narendra Modi together with other BJP leaders promised immediate implementation of the scheme when they took over government power ¹.

The dispute started a dramatic verbal exchange between AAP and the BJP. The BJP maintains its promises to implement them but the AAP approaches this declaration with doubt regarding the governing intentions.
