Massive traffic, waterlogging due to heavy rain in Delhi-NCR
Delhi-NCR witnessed a poor level of traffic mobility on the roads after a spell of heavy rain on Wednesday. This is because several videos that dominated the social media platform depicted cars moving at a very slow pace because of water clogging the streets and roads.
Lal G T Road, Sarita Vihar, Mathura Road in south Delhi witnessed humongous traffic jams as vehicles took a near aquatic form on water logged roads. Such scenes could be witnessed in Noida, Delhi’s neighboring city, as employees stepped out of their offices on Wednesday evening. They were stuck in a massive traffic including at the Mahamaya flyover going to Noida Sectors 18, 14, 15 & 16.
Several cases of waterlogging were observed in Noida Sector 37, Sector 19, DND Overleaf, Sector 34, Noida City Center, near Center Stage Mall, and Sector 27.
On this occasion, the heavy rain has proved the acknowledgements of Noida Authority that this time due to the cleaning of the drains Noida people would be free from the trouble of waterlogged. However, the scene of massive traffic jams was a testimony to the fears that Noida residents may have to grapple with this problem for many years.
Maximum temperatures were recorded to be thirty five in the national capital. the other on Tuesday rose by 2 degrees Celsius and was marginally above normal, the India Meteorological Department stated. The local weather office has sounded a ‘yellow’ warning of light to moderate rain in the city till Thursday.
