Delhi: Second Blaze Strikes Vaishali Express Near Etawah, Prompting Concern

In the early hours of Thursday, a distressing incident unfolded on the Delhi-Saharsa Vaishali Superfast Express. A fire erupted in the S-6 coach, injuring 19 passengers, with 11 sustaining serious burns. The train was en route from New Delhi to Saharsa in Bihar.

Swift Alerts, Hour-Long Battle

Upon noticing smoke around 2 am near Etawah in Uttar Pradesh, passengers quickly alerted authorities. Despite efforts from the Government Railway Police and Railway Protection Force, it took an hour to control the blaze. The affected coach was detached, and the journey resumed at 6 am.

Local authorities rushed 11 injured passengers to Saifai Medical University for further treatment. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported. Aditya Langeh, SP, GRP Agra, assured that detailed inquiries will illuminate the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate event.

This incident follows another earlier that day involving the New Delhi-Darbhanga Special Express, where eight passengers were injured and four coaches were destroyed. The cause of the fires is yet to be determined.
